Meet your representatives
My Name is Shaun Fauth and I am standing for Ashgrove School Board of Trustees. We’ve recently moved to Rangiora and our two children started school here at the start of this year. Matilda is in Turepo 3 and Oscar is in the Allenvale satellite. My wife and I have been thrilled with how the kids have both flourished in their short time so far and especially with the place that the Allenvale class has within the school. This has allowed the best of both worlds for Oscar who is receiving the specialist care and teaching he needs, within the bounds of a mainstream school environment. I think this relationship forms a wonderful part of the Ashgrove school culture. I wish I could get to Ashgrove more often during school hours to get to know the staff and parents and be a part of the school family. Since I can’t do this I’d like to help the school in other ways and hope to achieve this by standing for the board. I work as an Engineer for Waimakariri District Council. My role there involves undertaking design work, procurement and contract management for civil and public works projects. Previously I’ve worked in various engineering roles in the construction and mining industries. I do not have any previous board experience and I’ll gladly admit I have a lot to learn about the role of the board and how I can contribute. I am however confident in myself and understand the responsibility and level of commitment that this role will entail. I want to offer my help in the governance of the school to help ensure that it is the best environment we can make it for all its students and staff.
My name is Jason King and I am standing for Ashgrove School Board. I have two children at Ashgrove and a third starting in a couple of years. I have served on the BOT at Shirley Intermediate for 5 years, the last year as Board Chair before moving out to Rangiora last year when I took up the position of minister at John Knox Rangiora. I have a long Family history with Rangiora, my Grandparents lived on Ashgrove St for 30 years, my grandfather was the Head Art Teacher at Rangiora High in the 1960's while my Uncle was a "day-one" pupil at Ashgrove School. I have a local community bias and I'm looking for and opportunity to help in grass roots community activities. I enjoy the challenges associated with Governance and working with a team to support and resource our schools. I have experience on School BOT, Community Trusts and local community projects and I look forward to the opportunity to be a part of Ashgrove School if elected. Jas
I am currently a Parent Trustee for Ashgrove School and wish to remain a member of the BOT. I have been an Ashgrove School Board member for the past two years and prior to that, I was the Secretary for the Board. I have a full understanding of the governance of the board and how it integrates with the management of the school. I bring experience around bids and tenders from my professional career, as well as marketing and communications. My two daughters will be leaving Ashgrove and the end of this year to attend high school in 2020, however, I wish to still be involved with the school and the wider community to provide a view from a parent's perspective and to assist with the ongoing support of the school.
